Ottobiano hosted the opening round of the Internazionali d’Italia Supermoto Emisfero, and the Pavia circuit delivered a spectacular weekend from the outset. The undisputed star was Marc-Reiner Schmidt, multiple Italian and world champion, this year aboard the new Ducati: the German rider dominated all three SM1 heats, setting a pace no rival could match.
In the SM1 class, the closest challenger to Schmidt was Elia Sammartin (Honda – Gaerne), the reigning Italian champion, who took the Superpole Biting on Saturday and rounded out the weekend with three strong second-place finishes. Steve Bonnal (TM) completed the podium, though a few costly errors throughout the weekend prevented him from keeping pace with the top two.
Total dominance also in SM4, where Alessandro Morosi (Honda – 52 Racing Team) swept all three victories, keeping the pressure of Alessandro Sciarretta (TM – Cid’A) at bay. In the same class, Nicola Tonolo took top honours in the Fast category.
Among the national categories, wins went to Davide Sacchetti in SM3, Mauro Cucchietti in SM5, Giulia Tagliamonte in the Women’s class, and Alex Brossa in Young 125. The Young 250 was claimed by Leonardo Lapadula.
The next round of the Internazionali d’Italia Supermoto Emisfero is scheduled for 23–24 May at the Pomposa circuit.
